The next First Friday e-Call is February 7, at  9:30 a.m.

TOPIC: Finding qualified employee applicants is a problem all over Kansas. Ashla Stowe, Program Manager with Kansas Department of Commerce, will talk about programs that incentivize and support hiring people who do not have strong employment backgrounds. The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit available to employers for hiring individuals from certain target groups who have consistently faced significant barriers to employment. This allows the individual to move from economic dependency into self-sufficiency as they earn a steady income and become contributing tax payers. These include TANF Recipients, Veterans, Ex-Felons, SNAP Recipients and others.
