Family and Child Development PFT Launches the Resilient Relationships Weekly Series
Strong families, healthy development and resilience are timely topics given the stress on relationships during the COVID-19 challenge. In response, the Family and Child Development (FCD) PFT has launched the weekly Resilient Relationships series that is comprised of practical content and activities that strengthen families and support resilience.
Each week until the end of May, PFT member authors will prepare a one-page handout and a unique electronic message (ie., radio spot, YouTube video) that compliments their written contribution. Each Resilient Relationships installment promotes five protective factors that strengthen family interactions which are: Parental resilience, Social connections, Knowledge of parenting and child development, Concrete support in times of need and Social and emotional competence of children (from the Center for the Study of Social Policies).
Resilient Relationships installments are posted at the beginning of each week to the KSRE Resources Team in the Family and Child PFT channel. Contact FCD PFT co-chairs Anne Pitts, aelpers@k-state.edu; or Elaine Johannes, ejohanne@ksu.edu; for more information about Resilient Relationships and the work of the FCD PFT.
