Shout Out: Cheryl Boyer, Brooke Garcia, Frannie Miller, and Christy Dipman
This week’s Shout Out comes from our Turf Grass Specialist, Dr. Jack Fry. Jack wrote:
“I want to propose a "Shout Out" for Dr. Cheryl Boyer, Brooke Garcia, Frannie Miller, and Christy Dipman for their efforts in making our 70th Annual Kansas Turfgrass Conference, hosted by the Kansas Turfgrass Foundation and held online for the first time, a big success. The conference was held in conjunction with the Kansas Nursery and Landscape Association. The dates were December 7 to 10, and attracted 327 attendees, including professionals in lawn and landscape, golf course and sports turf, parks, garden centers, nurseries, and sales.
Cheryl and Brooke oversaw the technology required to make it happen, and also helped organize sessions related to business operations and plant selection. Frannie worked with the Kansas Department of Agriculture to ensure attendees could receive pesticide recertification credit. Christy handled marketing and registration, and worked to attract 34 sponsors. Everything went smoothly and would not have been possible without this group.”
Cheryl, Brooke, Frannie, and Christy, thanks for this and all the great work you do for the people we serve, our colleagues, and K-State Research and Extension!
