The Community Health Corner
According to the CDC, community health uses science-based approaches for the greatest health benefit to the greatest number of people by addressing the conditions and determinants that impact health. Changes in policies, systems and environments, settings are among the most effective ways to tackle big health issues. Being healthy is not just about individual choices, it’s also about the conditions that influence everyone’s health.
The following are community health tools that you can use for Grand Challenge for Health work:
AVAILABLE NOW – Common Sense Media has published its free guide for “Coping with COVID-19: How Young People Use Digital Media to Manage Their Mental Health.” Ready-to-print fact sheets on important COVID-19 related topics, like depression among young people, are part of the guide.
SUBSCRIBE NOW – The nation’s Public Health Communications Collaborative has made available timely Health Misinformation Alerts. Subscribe to this free service to know the latest misinformation and accurate responses based on science.
READ NOW – On March 15, the online magazine Daily Yonder released a report citing Texas A&M studies and a de Beaumont Foundation report revealing that rural Americans are more likely to trust family above friends, community leaders, national media for vaccine acceptance.
