KSRE Task Force Formed to Expand COVID-19 Vaccination Awareness and Education

Submitted by Elaine Johannes

A task force, comprised of Justin Goodno, Leah Robinson, Diane Nielson, Chuck Otte, Sandra Wick, Denise Dias, Christine McPheter and Connie Satzler of the Immunize Kansas Coalition (IKC), with leadership provided by Gayle Price and Elaine Johannes, has been convened to guide KSRE COVID-19 vaccination awareness and education efforts in response to the national Extension Foundation's partnership with the CDC.

The national partnership, titled "EXCITE - Vaccinate with Confidence," is expected to result in two funded initiatives in Kansas. The first phase will support short-term education and awareness for populations at low-rates of COVID-19 vaccination. The second phase, which is for up-to two years, will work with IKC to address vaccine hesitancy throughout the state.

Learn more about vaccination and immunization in Kansas through the IKC website at https://www.immunizekansascoalition.org/.

Contact Gayle Price, gprice@ksu.edu; or Elaine Johannes, ejohanne@ksu.edu; if you have questions about the task force and the national partnership.
