June Every Third Friday--Storytelling for Social Change

Submitted by Jennifer R Wilson

Do you ever like to tell stories or do you like stories to be told to you? As we are nearing Independence Day, this workshop will cover different stories that are connected to how we relate to the American dream. People of different backgrounds than us often have different stories to tell than we do. When most of our interactions are with people who are similar to us, it can put us at greater danger of only hearing a single story. This can happen with any aspect of identity. After participating in this workshop, participants will be able to identify stock stories and concealed stories in everyday situations that can lead to more inclusive programmatic practices.

Join us on Friday, June 18, at 1:30 p.m., as Aliah Mestrovich-Seay leads an interactive session aimed to help extension professionals learn how story-telling can be used to get to know clientele.

Zoom information was sent via calendar invite.
