Animal Science Updates
Animal Science Updates are scheduled for November 4 in Oakley and November 9 in Ottawa. Each program will include an overview of equine topics and resources from Jason Turner, NMSU, and hands on work with the updated KSU-Cow/calf budgeting tool. Bring your laptop for this session. If you need to borrow a laptop, let Sandy, sandyj@ksu.edu, know in advance. Do not plan on sharing a laptop.
In the afternoon the Eastern Update will visit the Agri-Energy Ethanol Plant in Garnett and the Western Update will hear from Kelly Kreikemeier, nutritionist with Foote Feedyards and then visit the Pioneer yard. Agendas are posted on Teams. Please RSVP your attendance to the Western Update by October 28 to Angie Gaede, amgaede@ksu.edu; and the Eastern Update by November 4 to Lois Schreiner, lschrein@ksu.edu.
Agents will also be able to pick up farm stress rack cards (5 x 11") courtesy of the Stress and Resiliency Team and Kansas Farm Bureau. These are designed to build awareness of the importance of managing farm and ranch stress.
