Financing for Rural Housing: First Friday e-Call
Friday, February 4, at 9:30 a.m. is the First Friday e-Call: Rural Housing Incentive Districts, a financing tool to build housing in rural communities. Rural Housing Incentive Districts (RHID) are a Kansas Department of Commerce financing tool to build housing in rural communities of less than 60,000 population or any county with a population of less than 40,000. NEW THIS YEAR: RHID financing expanded to include the renovation of buildings or other structures that are more than 25 years old primarily for residential use located in a central business district. This is noteworthy because it allows for vertical improvements in upstairs downtown buildings in addition to the typical RHID uses.
