Seeking State Extension Advisory Council Nominations
The leaves will be turning color soon! I adore the fall and the colors across campus. It also means that we have to be preparing for the upcoming State Extension Advisory Council elections.
There are a total of 21 elected positions on the SEAC. Six from each of the three administrative regions and three members from the counties with populations over 100,000. The terms are three years long. Two positions are elected each year from each of the three regions and one position from the urban counties.
Any local board member with at least two years of experience is eligible to submit a nomination. All you have to do is write a bio about yourself and include a picture if possible. Then email it to me at constad@ksu.edu by November 1, 2022.
Your information will be sent to respective region/urban units to be voted on by each of the local boards (one vote/unit). Results will be available in December.
As a reminder, there is one position vacant in the Eastern Region and two in the Western region. These positions could be appointed for two years to fill the remainder of a three year term. Again, just a bio is needed to apply for those terms. These nominations would have to be approved at the next SEAC meeting. When submitting a nomination, it would be helpful to clarify if this is the position that you are specifically seeking.
If you know of someone that might be interested and needs further information, I'd be happy to visit with them. Of course, regional directors are a great source of information too.
