Summer 4-H Intern Grant Program Host Site and Intern Applications
The Kansas 4-H Educator/Intern Grant Program is gearing up for summer 2023! It may seem a little early to be thinking about summer programming, but we hope you will consider participating. The internship runs from May 22 – August 4, 2023. The job description is listed here: https://careers.k-state.edu/cw/en-us/job/514039/4h-educatorintern.
Applications are now available. Please note the following timelines:
If your Extension unit is interested in becoming a host site, applications are due November 18, 2022.

If you know someone in your community (college student or active/retired school teacher) who would be interested in serving as an educator/intern, applications are due December 16, 2022.

The State 4-H Office will advertise for the Educator/Intern positions via social media, collegiate contacts and other means. We are currently visiting several departments on campus to talk with students and will be sending the information out via departmental newsletters. Additionally, a promotional video will be posted soon, and agents are encouraged to share it on their extension social media pages.
Please keep in mind that this grant does not provide housing, so hiring an intern who already lives in your county or district would be ideal. Engagement leaders and extension agents will be invited to take part in intern interviews this season which will happen after the first of the year.
If you would like more information about this program or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Amy Collins, acollins@ksu.edu; or Rick Peterson, rlpeterson@ksu.edu.
