Shout Out: Sharolyn Flaming Jackson
This Shout Out comes from Clara Wicoff, Food, Nutrition and Health agent in the Southwind District, and is directed to Sharolyn Flaming Jackson, Northeast Area Family and Consumer Sciences specialist. Clara writes:
"I would like to give a big Shout Out to our Northeast Area Family and Consumer Sciences Specialist, Sharolyn Flaming Jackson! Sharolyn leads the Walk Kansas program, which is a massive undertaking each spring that has a significant impact.
This year, there are nearly four thousand individuals participating in this healthy lifestyle challenge program which encourages people to be more active and make better nutrition choices. Sharolyn also led the charge to add a new initiative to Walk Kansas this year: weekly 'Med Instead of Meds' webinars during weeks two through seven of the eight-week program. This new series promotes healthy eating by focusing on the Mediterranean eating style. In addition, Sharolyn fields countless questions from participants and agents as registration opens and throughout the course of the program.
Thank you for all that you do to make Walk Kansas happen Sharolyn!"
