Horse Project Skills Checklist
Have you ever watched your county fair 4-H horse show and gasped (sometimes multiple times) while watching the riding classes because the situation doesn't seem safe?? I confess I've done it multiple times while judging some local 4-H horse shows.
What can we do to help make our shows safer for our 4-H members? I would encourage you to read, and to distribute, "Are You Ready for the Kansas State Fair?" This document has been sent to all youth enrolled in the 4-H horse project, but families may have ignored it if they aren't attending the state fair 4-H horse show. However, it is an appropriate educational tool for your local units as well.
