Managing Woody Encroachment Packets for Each Unit

Submitted by Lori Bammerlin

Each extension unit has a packet that focuses on managing woody encroachment available to them. The packet includes “Reducing Woody Encroachment in Grasslands: A Pocket Guide for Planning and Design,” a publication for using the pocket guide, handout of local and state resources available, and more.

Packets can be picked up in 103 Umberger during the following times: Tuesday 8-5, Wednesday 8-2, and Thursday 8-5. Units can also pick up their packets from 1-4 during the KSRE Annual Conference outside of the breakout session, Tree Free, Weed Free: New concepts in woody plant control in rangelands, on Wednesday, October 25. The session starts at 2:30 p.m. Agents attending the session will receive their packet at that time. The session will be divided evenly between a presentation and a hands-on activity, with time for questions and discussion.

Please pick up your packet and learn how to be more effective in conserving rangelands in your area!
