Reminder to Submit Tag Change Forms for State Fair Livestock

Submitted by Lexie Hayes

This is a reminder if you have tag changes that still need submitted for nominated animals youth plan to show at the Kansas State Fair Grand Drive, please get them submitted ASAP! We need to receive the original form by Friday, August 30.

The link to the updated tag change form is below. It is also posted on the “Nomination Information” page of the youth livestock program website. Please remember that submitting a tag change form is how you officially report an updated tag, so check-in will go smoothly for the family at the state fair. Families will only be able to check-in market animals and commercial breeding females that match a tag number with a complete nomination on file. This includes the visual 5-digit number and the appropriate corresponding EID number.

If you have a last-minute change due to a lost tag during the week leading up to the Grand Drive (after Sept. 1), please complete the form and scan and email it, or email me a picture of the completed form. Otherwise, we will not receive it prior to the Grand Drive to be able to honor the tag change. Market animals and commercial breeding females must have the tag in their ear when they arrive on the grounds AND at check-in to be eligible to show.

Also, the state fair has several extension units who have not approved their Grand Drive entries. Please get the entries for your kids approved ASAP, so they’ll be eligible to show. You’ll need to login to the Grand Drive entry link as a “Club” and select “approve entries.” Below is the link. If you have an animal you are intentionally not approving, contact Jenn Galloway at the state fair directly. You may also find additional details about Grand Drive, as well as a detailed schedule on the Grand Drive page.
