Shout Out: Lexie Hayes and KSU ASI
This week the Shout Out is from Kelsey Nordyke, 4-H Ag Sciences Program Specialist; and is sent for Lexi Hayes, Extension Assistant/Youth Livestock Coordinator in Animal Sciences and Industry. Kelsey writes:
"I'm shouting out Lexie Hayes and the KSU Department of Animal Sciences and Industry. Lexie is an incredible resource and partner to Kansas 4-H. She is the key player in organizing, planning and carrying out the annual 4-H Livestock Sweepstakes (among other youth livestock opportunities). Lexie takes great care in ensuring that the contests are educational, impactful and prepare our youth for the next step of contests at the national level. She carefully coordinates contest organizers and volunteers throughout the weekend. The judging coaches for livestock and meat judging provide a high-quality judging opportunity for our youth to learn. Additional volunteer staff and students are courteous, knowledgeable and kind to our 4-H members, coaches and families. They set an incredible example for Kansas State University and play a key role in helping to recruit the next generation of students through their example. Thank you KSU ASI for your partnership with Kansas 4-H!"
Lexie, thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.
If you know of a colleague or team of colleagues who deserve recognition for a job well done, why not nominate them for a Shout Out. Simply send their name(s) and the reason for the Shout Out to ksreshoutout@ksu.edu.
