Changes to KSRE Financial Document Sign-On

Submitted by Jennifer Wilson

An important security enhancement coming to the KSRE applications which will affect how many log into the KSRE Financials page. In our ongoing efforts to protect your data and ensure the security of our systems, we will be implementing K-State's Single Sign-On (SSO) for all KSRE application logins.

What is changing? Starting October 1, you will use your K-State eID and password to log in to KSRE applications using the SSO service.

Key points to note:

  1. Login Credentials: You will use your K-State eID and password.
  2. Single Sign-On: Once logged in, you can access multiple K-State services without re-entering your credentials.
  3. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): If you are already required to use MFA for your K-State account (AKA DUO), this will continue for KSRE applications. Local unit office professionals currently are not required to use DUO and that will remain the same.

How will this affect you?

  • First login after the change: You'll be directed to the K-State login page instead of the familiar KSRE login screen.
  • Subsequent logins: You may not need to log in if you're already authenticated with other K-State services.
  • MFA Users: If you currently use MFA for your K-State account, you'll continue to use it for KSRE applications.

We understand this change may require a small adjustment to your login routine, but it greatly improves our overall security posture. We appreciate your cooperation in this important upgrade.
