NEW! Online Designation of Beneficiary for KPERS Members

Submitted by Human Capital Services

A memo from Human Capital Services now is the time for employees to update or add a beneficiary in the KPERS portal. KPERS has added functionality to the online member portal. Any KPERS member can now update his or her designation of beneficiary for KPERS retirement and basic and/or optional life insurance by logging into the online member account. Changes made through the online account are effective immediately. Beneficiaries can be changed at any time.

Instructions for enrolling in online account access (pdf) can be found on the KPERS website. Trouble logging in? Contact KPERS directly at kpers@kpers.org or toll-free at 1-888-275-5737.

Please Note:

• Newly hired KPERS covered employees will still be required to complete the paper Designation of Beneficiary Form (KPERS 7/99) (pdf) as part of the new hire process.

• Newly hired and current Kansas Board of Regents members will continue to utilize the paper Designation of Beneficiary for Life Insurance Form for Kansas Board of Regents Members (KPERS 7/99A) (pdf) for all first time designations and updates.

Paper forms can be sent to benefits@ksu.edu or to Human Capital Services through ImageNow. Should you have any questions regarding the appropriate form to use for a new employee, please contact your benefits team at benefits@ksu.edu.
