Week of PRIDE 2017 - May 21-27, 2017
Week of PRIDE 2016: In the spring of 2016, 356 adults and 241 youth volunteers in 25 Kansas PRIDE communities spent 2,309 hours planning and implementing projects and raised more than $26,460 to invest into their communities. Seventy-four youth from 15 4-H clubs assisted in 11 communities! That is a lot of impact in such a short time!
Week of PRIDE is a statewide volunteer opportunity for Kansas PRIDE Communities to make a difference in their community and across Kansas. The week of May 21-27 has been designated as the "official" Week of PRIDE, but in truth projects from March until June are accepted. Why? Because anytime is a great time to volunteer!
For the second year in a row, we are partnering through cross promotion with 48 Hours of 4-H to provide volunteer and leadership opportunities for youth! This means that we can help you make connections with your local PRIDE organizations to assist them with their projects. This also means that you might hear from your local PRIDE groups who are interested in partnering with their local 4-H.
Visit our website at kansasprideprogram.k-state.edu to learn more about our program and the communities near you. If you are interested in participating, contact us at PRIDE@ksu.edu and we will get you contacts to your local PRIDE community!
