October is Open Enrollment for Health, Life and Voluntary Insurances

Submitted by Mary Gatza

October 1-31 is open enrollment for health, dental and vision insurances; and for flexible spending account; health savings account, or HSA; health reimbursement account, or HRA; and HealthyKids. Voluntary benefits such as life insurance, short-term disability, and accidental injury, critical illness, and hospital indemnity insurances also are open for enrollment during this period.

This open enrollment period is an active enrollment. Employees must enroll in the State Employee Health Plan even if you desire the same coverage you currently have in 2018. Failure to enroll will place you in Plan N.

The State Employee Health Plan will host two information sessions at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Thursday, October 4, at the K-State Benefits Fair. The information sessions are in the K-State Student Union's Forum Hall.

The State Employee Health Plan also will host webinars at various times during October. Please see the State Employee Health Plan website for more information.

Your HCS benefits team will continue to update you and provide information during the month of October. Watch your K-State email and K-State Today for more information.
