Shout Out: Food Safety Specialist Londa Nwadike
This week's Shout Out is from Mary Lou Peter:
Food safety specialist Londa Nwadike accepted an invitation from the Washington, D.C.-based National Press Foundation to speak to 20 journalists from an impressive array of national media outlets on food safety, including how federal officials monitor foodborne illnesses, how consumers can protect themselves, etc. Her presentation on September 26 was part of a program covering a range of topics including the farm economy, new technology, food security and more. Journalists from Reuters, Forbes, ABC, Politico, Bloomberg, BBC, Tampa Bay Times, HuffPost, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Star Tribune (Minneapolis) and others were there to learn about these important topics in order to better cover them. She's already had a call from an ABC reporter requesting an interview.
Well done, Londa! That's an excellent way to demonstrate K-State Research and Extension expertise with outlets that have millions of viewers and readers.
If you have a colleague or colleagues that deserve a Shout Out for something well done, please send their name(s) and the reason why they deserve a Shout Out to me at ghadley@ksu.edu.
