Regional Farmers Market Vendor Workshops- February 2019
KSRE is working again this year with KDA to organize regional farmers market vendor workshops across the state. This year's dates and locations include: Olathe, February 1; Parsons, February 2; Dodge City, February 8; Wichita, February 9; Manhattan, February 15; and Hays, February 22. Online registration ($20/person which includes lunch), flyers for each workshop, and the workshop agendas are all available at https://www.fromthelandofkansas.com/page/farmers-market-regional-workshops.
Vendors can again bring their sales scale to the workshop to get certified for free, which is an ~$40 value. We have a great lineup of speakers and topics this year, including a produce grower panel, a Kansas Specialty Crop Growers Association Meeting, and a Farm to Institution session. Please share this information with anyone in your area that might be interested, and consider attending yourself.
Contact Londa Nwadike, lnwadike@ksu.edu, with questions on the workshops. Reimbursement scholarships are available for farmers market vendors or Extension personnel to attend the regional workshops ($100 scholarships to cover registration and travel expenses).
Contact Kerri Ebert, kebert@ksu.edu, for more information on the scholarships. Applications are available at https://kstate.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6LuWOmDRkIaYT7T.
