Urban Food Systems Symposium Abstract Submission Date Extended
The UFSS Scientific Committee has extended the deadline for abstract submissions for our 2020 conference! While we have received many quality submissions, we’re hoping to have a few more before the new deadline of November 15.

The abstract submission deadline for the Urban Food Systems Symposium set for June 4 - 6, 2020 in Kansas City, MO is Friday, November 15, by 5 p.m. CST.
The symposium brings together researchers, not-for-profit administrators, community organizers, Extension professionals, students, and others, to share and gain knowledge on urban food systems and agriculture and their role in global food system. Oral and poster presentations addressing research, education, and Extension and/or community development programs within the field of urban food systems are encouraged to submit. Urban food systems includes a broad array of topics related to urban agriculture and the interaction of urban populations and the food system. Specific examples of topic areas include:
• Climate Change
• Nutrition and human health of urban communities
• Urban food production systems
• Challenges of growing in urban areas
• Training for urban farmers
• Urban food distribution systems
• Urban planning and development
• Community and economic development
• Connecting urban consumers with agriculture

• Alternative approaches to the current system
