Powerful Tools for Caregivers Train the Trainer Event

Submitted by Jo Argabright

The Adult Development and Aging PFT is excited to offer a train the trainer event for the Powerful Tools for Caregivers course. PTC classes meet once weekly for six weeks and are designed to help caregivers take better care of themselves as they care for others. Research shows caregiver improvements in self-care behaviors, emotion management, self-confidence and utilization of community resources. Classes must be team taught by two certified instructors. Instructors are required to teach class at least annually.

Cost of registration is $150. This fee is covered for members of the ADA PFT, but the class is open to everyone. Classes are Sunday, February 9, 2 - 8 p.m.; and Monday, February 10, 8 - 5 p.m.  The course will be held at the Bluemont Hotel.
