Submitted by Daryl Buchholz

This week each local Extension office will receive a letter and information from Dr. Hadley regarding recognizing and nominating local farm/ranch families for state recognition in the Master Farm Family program.

New in 2020, the Master Farm Family nomination/application process is entirely online! A special informational/training by Eric Atkinson, K-State Radio; Jill Zimmerman, KARL Executive Director; and Daryl Buchholz, Secretary Master Farmer Association; will be provided through Zoom on Tuesday, September 8, at 12:30 p.m. We will take you through the process and provide tips and responsibilities in developing a strong nomination. This should be a relatively short info/training session. Gratitude is expressed to Jill and Eric for their work in getting this ready to go. We are hoping to generate interest and increase the number of applications.
The Zoom meeting info is as follows, and all are welcome to join in:

Topic: Master Farm Family Program
Time: September 8, 2020 - 12:30 p.m. Central Time (US and Canada)

The nomination/application form for the program is online at this link: https://tinyurl.com/Ksmff. The first two pages are background info for the program and the application process. The next four pages are the input form. We encourage you to check it out and become familiar with the questions asked and the ease of loading information into the input form.

This program is a great way to provide local recognition to your most outstanding farm families who have had long term success with their farm/ranch business and provided positive leadership in building a strong community connection.
