Kansas Radon Program Fall Outreach Campaign

Submitted by Brian Hanson

With all of us spending more time at home, the Kansas Radon Program (KRP) is conducting a radon media campaign for Fall 2020. Radio ads encouraging testing homes for radon will air Sunday, September 27, through October 24, 2020 statewide. To promote the radio campaign, the KRP will also be promoting radon testing in homes through social media; social media posts will use the infograpics found at https://kansasradonprogram.org/kansas-radon-social-media. Posts will come from Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KansasRadonProgram and Twitter: https://twitter.com/KansasRadon as well KDHE social media outlets.

The KRP is asking Extension offices across the state to repost, retweet, or download the images and post from your local social media accounts to encourage local radon testing and to consider doing radon education in your local programming such as newsletters or other media outlets.

The KRP has radon test kits ready to ship to offices that need to top off their supply. Additionally, we encourage you to promote ordering test kits directly from the KRP at https://sosradon.org/purchase-kits for clients who may be more comfortable not coming into the office.

Don't hesitate to contact me at bhanson@ksu.edu or 785-532-4996 with any questions or to order radon test kits!
