The Diversity Programs Office Update

Happy fall! We trust that all are transitioning well to the hybrid class mode. Next week, September 23, at 6 p.m., the Diversity Programs Office (DPO) and K-State Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS) chapter will be hosting our first Virtual MANRRS Corporate Showcase with various corporate sponsors and students in attendance. The event will feature presentations by the companies and breakout sessions for networking. The Zoom ID for the event is 971 0673 7838.

The DPO would like to welcome Josephine Gianni and Sanders Barbee to our office and welcome back Lonnie Hobbs, Jr., Summer Smades, McKenzie Stevens, and Raymond Thomas. We would also like to congratulate our 2020 MAPS and KOMPASS cohorts on a job well done. The students named below showed resilience in successfully completing the first virtual Project IMPACT programs. All are incoming freshmen.

Also happening in the next few weeks is our general body meeting, #NewBeginnings, and the Virtual 2020 Regions 4-6 MANRRS Cluster Meeting coming up October 2-3.   

  • Please note the Growing Our Mindset Forum on October 20, 5:30 p.m., Meeting ID: 971 0673 7838, on-site venue is Umberger 105. The event will feature Mr. Edward F. Honesty, Jr., President & Chief Operating Officer at Best Harvest Bakeries. The Growing Our Mindset forum is open to the public and will follow university and Riley County health Department guidelines. 
  • We continue to partner with the KSRE Inclusion and Diversity Task Force and Navigating Difference trainers to increase the awareness of diversity to the KSRE workforce.
