Health insurance literacy - the degree to which individuals have the knowledge, ability, and confidence to:

→Select the best plan for your family’s financial and health circumstance and
→Use the plan once enrolled
Have you made your selection for health insurance for the coming year? Whether you have insurance through the State of Kansas, Marketplace, or Medicare, October represents the Health Insurance Open Enrollment period. Take action now to make sure you have the best health insurance policy for you and your family.
Did you know that even if you don’t purchase your health insurance through the State of Kansas you are still eligible to purchase dental and/or vision coverage through the State? This changed a couple of years ago. Every year talk to your co-workers or members of the Financial Management PFT if you have questions or want to know the latest changes in health insurance coverage.

►Carry your health insurance card
►Use preventative services to stay healthy
►Choose in-network doctors and facilities
►Plan for healthcare cost
►Track health care related expenses
►Fill out a HIPPA form for all family members 18 and older
