Winter “Living Well Together” Series Begins
Did you make a “New Year’s resolution" to: take better care of yourself? to get better organized with papers? work on your finances? or to get healthy? If so, we have just the series of educational programs that are being hosted by K-State Research and Extension Family and Consumer Science agents in the NE Area Region.
“Living Well Together” offers free online seminars that are designed to enhance Kansans’ time at home, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic when many of us are home more than usual. Anyone is welcome to join in on any of these sessions as they will be held every Thursday evening beginning at 6:45 p.m. and will last about 45 minutes, with 15 minutes left for questions. These programs are “free,” but registrations are required. These sessions will be held from January 7 through March 25, with a variety of topics being offered.
For January the following will be held:
January 14, 6:45 p.m. -- Cut the Clutter & Get Organized, presented by Debra Wood -- Family Resource Management Extension Agent, Central Kansas District; and Denise Dias -- Family and Consumer Science Extension Agent, Johnson County
As New Year’s Resolutions go, getting organized is right up there toward the top of the list. Join us as we focus on cutting the clutter in your life, and getting and keeping your financial records organized.
January 21, 6:45 p.m. -- Vaccinations: Checking the Facts Together will be presented by Dr. John Eplee, MD, FAAP -- Immunize Kansas Coalition. Experts from Immunize Kansas Coalition will talk about the history and importance of vaccines, and answer questions about their safety. Discussion will focus on immunizations in general including COVID-19 vaccines.
January 28, 6:45 p.m. -- Who’s Taking Care of You? Will be presented by Elaine Johannes, Associate Professor & Extension Specialist Family & Youth Development, KSU; and Brad Dirks, PA-C, M. ED, Associate Director, College of Health and Human Sciences, KSU.
Self-care is an important activity to do every day. Doing so will lead toward a better balance among your dimension of wellness and lead toward improved overall health and wellness.
