KSRE/KDA Farmers Market/ Direct to Consumer Sales Conference
Registration for the KSRE/KDA Farmers Market/ Direct to Consumer Sales Conference is now available at https://fromthelandofkansas.com/page/farmers-market-regional-workshops. More information is also available on that website. We will be putting out a press release, flyers, and social media posts on this soon, but I wanted to be sure to share information with all of you as soon as possible, so that you can get information out to your contacts as well.
This year, the conference will be entirely virtual. We had originally planned on having "watch parties" at some local extension offices, but due to the current situation with COVID, we decided to make the event completely virtual. We are planning to include in the advertising materials that if interested participants do not have adequate internet connectivity to watch the event online, they can contact their local extension office to ASK if they could possibly schedule a time to watch the recording at their local extension office after the recordings are available. We plan to post the recordings within a few days of the event. So we would appreciate if you all would be willing to allow members of the public to come to SAFELY watch the recording at your office at a later date (following the COVID protocols of your office at the time).
There will be lunch and learn sessions on February 16-18, from noon-1 and then the main workshop will be on Friday, February 19 from 8:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. The details of the presentations are included on the website. One other note- participants can still get their sales scales certified for free as part of their registration ($5) for the conference. They will be asked when they register about the number of scales they would like to get tested. Participants will be contacted after registration to let them know when and where they can bring their scale to get tested. The testing will likely be in late February/ early March.
A huge thank you to the Kansas Center for Sustainable Agriculture and Alternative Crops (KCSAAC) and the Kansas Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SARE) for their generous financial support of the workshops.
Please feel free to let Londa Nwadike, lnwadike@ksu.edu, know if you have any questions on the conference.
