Shout Out: Zac Hoppenstedt
This week's Shout Out comes from Tom Buller, Douglas County Horticulture agent, and is directed to Zac Hoppenstedt, Johnson County Horticulture agent. Tom writes:
"I’d like to nominate Zac Hoppenstedt for a Shout Out. Zac successfully developed a Specialty Crop Block Grant research project to support high density apple orchards in Johnson and Douglas Counties. After he coordinated and conducted on farm research trials last year, he was not able to put on a field day at that time due to COVID. He was finally able to pull that off on September 18, 2021.
The field day he organized was great! It brought together national experts, specialists from both Kansas and Missouri and local farmers to talk about work on high density apple production in Kansas. There were participants from across the state of Kansas as well as a few from Missouri who attended. So much information was shared and many connections were made. It was an outstanding success. Great job Zac!"
Zac, thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.
If you know of a colleague or team of colleagues who deserve recognition for a job well done, why not nominate them for a Shout out. Simply send their name(s) and the reason for the Shout Out to ksreshoutout@ksu.edu. Also, it would be very helpful if you would put "Shout Out" in the subject line of the email.
