KSRE Local Foods Systems TDT to Hold Second Statewide Local Foods Virtual Town Hall
The KSRE Local Foods Transdisciplinary Team, https://www.rrc.k-state.edu/localfoods/index.html, is planning to host our second statewide local foods system virtual “town hall” on Wednesday, January 26, from 11 a.m. - noon. The goal of the meeting is for people working in the area of local food systems across Kansas to be able to share and learn about the various things that are being done related to local food systems so that we all can work together better to strengthen local food systems in Kansas.
Our KSRE Local Foods TDT is inviting a number of partners that work at the state level to attend the town hall, but would also like to invite all interested KSRE personnel to join the call, and you are also welcome to invite any of your local partners working in local food systems to join the call as well.
Our agenda for our second virtual town hall includes the following:
- Five minute presentations by selected state organizations working in local food systems- including the Kansas Action for Children, Network Kansas, Kansas Appleseed and the KSU Urban Food Systems Certificate program- on their current efforts related to local food systems
- Update on the status of the USDA Regional Food Systems Program grant that KSRE submitted in July 2021 and next steps
- Brief announcements of upcoming relevant local food systems events in Kansas that will be occurring in the next few months
