Retirement Planning Workshops to be held March 29

Submitted by Jennifer R Wilson

Are you nearing retirement? Or maybe interested in learning more from experts within the field as you consider your post-employment future? Your K-State Benefits Team is partnering with TIAA and Voya to offer two opportunities on Tuesday, March 29, to learn more about creating a stable and secure retirement income strategy. Regardless of where you are on the planning and savings spectrum, these one-hour virtual sessions are designed to help ensure you will have a strategy to support your desired retirement lifestyle.

TIAA will present Paying Yourself: Income Options in Retirement at 9 a.m. This session will focus on considerations, rules, and tax implications regarding your available K-State retirement plans. Additional outcomes include a greater understanding of the basic rules that govern common retirement accounts, additional perspective on when you may want to consider accessing different retirement assets, and flexible income choices offered by TIAA.

Voya will present: Plan for Your Retirement Income at 2 p.m. This session will help you understand how to manage your income throughout retirement. Focusing on Voya's proprietary online experience, you will learn more about retirement income sources — including Social Security — and understand how to close potential gaps in your retirement income goals. This workshop will also highlight important risks to consider along with professional advice options to create a lasting retirement income strategy.

Both sessions are open to all benefits-eligible K-State employees, regardless of which retirement plans you participate in and which vendor(s) you may have selected. Register your place in one or both today! If you have any questions, please reach out to benefits@k-state.edu.
