Shout Out: Marla Sexton

Submitted by Gregg Hadley

The Shout Out this week comes from Dale Helwig, Cherokee County Extension Director, and is sent for Marla Sexton, Accountant in the Southeast Research-Extension Center in Parsons. Dale writes:

"I would like to give a Shout Out to Marla Sexton. We recently held a F.A.R.M.S. conference at the Southeast Area Parson's Research Station. Scientists from across the nation came to meet and talk to area farmers and ranchers. The day before the conference an ice storm hit the area, but because people were coming from everywhere, canceling the event was not an option.

Area schools were closed, meaning the Research Center was to be closed as well. Marla Sexton came in anyway to open the facility, and upon our arrival, she was already shoveling the sidewalks so those arriving would have safe access to the building. We would like to say thank you to Marla for going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure a safe and successful F.A.R.M.S conference."

Marla, thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.

If you know of a colleague or team of colleagues who deserve recognition for a job well done, why not nominate them for a Shout Out. Simply send their name(s) and the reason for the Shout Out to ksreshoutout@ksu.edu. Also, it would be very helpful if you would put "Shout Out" in the subject line of the email.
