Online Farm Management Trainings for Agent Professional Development

Submitted by Robin Reid

You hopefully have heard about and may even be helping to market these two online asynchronous Farm Management Classes, but did you know YOU could also take them for professional development?

Finances and the Farm covers the basics of farm record-keeping, and then how to turn those records into financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow) that can be analyzed for making management decisions at the farm level.  More information can be found here:  https://www.agmanager.info/events/finances-and-farm-online-class.

Risk Management on the Farm covers how to determine your cost of production, basics of crop insurance, how to develop a marketing plan, and the basics of farm programs (ARC/PLC). There is also a section devoted to cow/calf risk management. You can find out more here: https://www.agmanager.info/events/risk-management-farm-online-class.

Both of these classes would be excellent for new Ag agents starting out who do not have a farm management background. They are also good for seasoned agents, who want strengthen their knowledge in these areas. If you are interested in taking one or both of these classes, please let me know! The cost is $100 per class, but for agents within our system we can offer it 50% off. Just email me for the coupon code, robinreid@ksu.edu!
