Shout Out: Tara Markley and Nancy Daniels
"The Community Vitality Program Focus Team would like to give a Shout Out to Tara Markley, Johnson County extension director; and Nancy Daniels, extension associate; for their work bringing together some amazing resources for a stellar Community Vitality Retreat experience! Jamie Menon, for the program focus team, writes:
"The Community Vitality Program Focus Team convened May 3-5, 2022 in Lenexa to learn about:
• The Lenexa City Center, which grows Farmer’s Market and entrepreneurial business opportunities in innovative ways
• Douglas County CORE’s strategic vision and action for providing support and resources to local entrepreneurs
• Northeast Kansas Enterprise Facilitation, which encourages people of all ages to expand their entrepreneurial ideas in their areas of passion
• KC Sourcelink and NetWork Kansas, who shared the roadmap to starting an entrepreneurial venture, as well as how to connect with great partners (which includes K-State Research and Extension!)
• Housing resources from The United Community Services and the Kansas Department of Commerce
What a phenomenal experience! Thank you Tara and Nancy for organizing such a fantastic opportunity to gain new resources for supporting our communities!"
Tara and Nancy, thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues, and K-State Research and Extension.
If you know of a colleague or team of colleagues who deserve recognition for a job well done, why not nominate them for a Shout Out. Simply send their name(s) and the reason for the Shout Out to ksreshoutout@ksu.edu. Also, it would be very helpful if you would put "Shout Out" in the subject line of the email.
