Facilitation Initiative Update
In our increasingly divisive culture, dialogue is critically important. Our extension professionals have the opportunity to play a unique role in engaging our communities in dialogues that can build economies, grow leadership and set a course for prosperity in our state. Facilitation skills are critical to effectively creating and guiding conversations, but, as with any skill, practice is important!
If you are interested in building your facilitation skills, we invite you to enroll in the Facilitation Basics for Extension Professionals micro credential which will begin January 17.
The curriculum for the course is divided into modules and will span eight weeks. Each week there will be a set of short, pre-recorded videos to watch and activities to complete. You can do these at your own pace each week (asynchronously).
Participants in this micro credential pilot will also work together while honing skills to lead facilitated dialogues. In addition to learning through pre-recorded training videos, once-a-week live sessions will provide opportunity to practice, network and build relationships across the system.
This is a non-credit pilot, so there will not be any fees passed on to you as a participant. The micro-credential is already in PEARS so you can add it to your professional development plan.
Enrollment begins the first week of January and the enrollment link will be shared system-wide in the first Tuesday Letter in January. We will process enrollment on a first-come, first served basis until the course is full.
