The Kansas 4-H Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Steve Maynard as the executive director of Rock Springs Ranch, the state 4-H center.

Maynard was most recently the facilities director at Asbury Hills Camp & Retreat Center/South Carolina Camps & Retreat Ministries in Greenville, South Carolina. He has more than 25 years of experience in the camping industry serving as an executive leader at camps across the country.

"Steve is an experienced leader who has a long-term vision for Rock Springs Ranch that will enable us to serve Kansas 4-H members and retreat groups for many years to come. As we continue to enhance the 4-H camp and conference experience, I am confident in Steve's ability to lead our staff in providing outstanding experiences for campers and guests," said Kansas 4-H Foundation President and CEO Jake Worcester.

As part of the executive director role, Maynard will be overseeing all aspects of Rock Springs Ranch facilities and programming, working with Camp Directors Jared and Letha Causby, 4-H agents across the state and the rest of the team on programming and staffing needs.

Maynard anticipates moving to Rock Springs Ranch quickly, and his family plans to celebrate the holidays in the Stone House. He will begin his new role in January 2023.

"I am excited to be joining the Kansas 4-H and Rock Springs Ranch family! I look forward to working with the team and helping them achieve their goals, provide exceptional experiences for our campers and fill summer camp and retreat calendars. I am proud to be a part of the state’s largest positive youth development organization, serving more than 80,000 youth each year,” said Steve Maynard, executive director of Rock Springs Ranch.
