Finances and the Farm Online Class - Registration Open Now!
The Finances and the Farm online course is now open for registration. The course is designed for farm and ranch families who want to enhance their finance skills.
We are asking agents to help spread the word about this course. Social media posts, a flyer, and other publicity materials are available for you to share. We also invite agents to take the course. A coupon code for 75% off will be made available for agents to use at registration. Agents who are interested in taking the class are asked to share any feedback with us. Contact Robin or LaVell for more information on the coupon code.
The Finances and the Farm course may sound familiar. We first offered the material as an in-person series in early 2020. The reviews were extremely positive, so we recorded the material and offered it as an online course. To date, over 1,000 people have taken these lessons.
Robin Reid and LaVell Winsor updated the course over the past several months. The series has been rerecorded by professional videographers and, with the assistance of Global Campus, interactive activities have been added to help participants better understand and retain the material.
The course offers seven lessons: Recordkeeping, Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Enterprise Budgets, Cash Flow, Goal Setting, and Managing Family Living Expenses. Students can choose quizzes based on either a traditional row crop and cattle operation or a vegetable/CSA operation.
Participants can either take the course for education only or to meet Farm Service Agency (FSA) borrower credit requirements. This course meets both the financial and production requirements for FSA loans. Those taking the course for FSA credit will receive a certificate upon successful completion. The education only registration fee is $100 and the FSA credit class registration fee is $300.
The registration link can be found on www.agmanager.info under the Events tab.
Thank you for helping to spread the word about this online course.
