Shout Out: Holly Miner, Franny Eastwood and Karen Blakeslee

Submitted by Susie Wilkinson

This week the Shout Out is from Clara Misenhelter, Southwind Extension District Nutrition, Food and Health Agent; and is sent for Holly Miner, Franny Eastwood, and Karen Blakeslee. Clara writes:

"I would like to send a heartfelt Shoutout to Wildcat District Agent Holly Miner, Marais des Cygnes District Agent Franny Eastwood, and Rapid Response Center Coordinator Karen Blakeslee for all of their help in providing a Master Food Volunteer training. Holly, Franny, and I have joined forces for the last two years to offer a combined Master Food Volunteer training across our three districts. Providing this impactful training in the Southwind District would not have been possible without this collaboration, and I am truly grateful for all of the time, effort, and mentorship that Holly and Franny have provided to me in this process. They say "teamwork makes the dream work," and I truly believe that is the case when it comes to this team.

I also want to extend my sincerest thanks to Karen Blakeslee, who coordinates the Master Food Volunteer program at the state level. Without her countless hours spent developing the online training materials, our hybrid Master Food Volunteer training would not be possible. She also went above and beyond in helping us adapt to the IT issues we experienced at the start of our training and has always been quick to respond to my many emails with questions about the Master Food Volunteer program. I can't say enough good things about the work that Karen does!

Thank you so very much, Holly, Franny, and Karen!"

Holly, Franny, and Karen, thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.
