Kansas Forest Service Staff Selected for National Award
Ryan Armbrust, Rural Forestry Program Coordinator for the Kansas Forest Service, has been selected for a national leadership award. The Society of American Foresters (SAF) has selected Ryan Armbrust as the 2024 recipient of their Young Forester Leadership Award. The SAF website describes this award in this way ”The Young Forester Leadership Award recognizes outstanding leadership by a young forestry professional in the development and promotion of an individual program or project, or for a sustained leadership role benefiting the practice of forestry and SAF”.
Ryan has worked at KFS since 2013 serving in several roles. Throughout his time with us and every day Ryan lives out the award criteria by constantly looking for ways to develop and promote the staff he leads, colleagues he works with, and builds partnerships to provide the highest level of forestry service and impact to the citizens of Kansas.
The award comes with recognition at the SAF Annual Convention in Lakewood, CO this coming September as well as complimentary registration and financial assistance to attend the Convention. Congratulations Ryan!
