Food Safety

Farmers Market

Whether you are preparing a product to sell at your local farmers market or cooking a meal for a community fundraiser, it is important to learn how to handle and prepare food safely. Many people do not think about the safety of food until a foodborne illness occurs. Extension Food Safety at Kansas State University strives to educate consumers on safe food handling within the areas of food preparation, food preservation and food service.

As a leading institution for food safety in teaching, research and extension outreach, our team of specialists are dedicated to providing educational opportunities and learning resources that help everyone prepare safe food items. We offer a variety of workshops and classes, both in person and online, for individuals, community organizations and businesses.
