Supporting Communities

Our work

When it comes to supporting Kansas communities, K-State Research and Extension’s goal is to provide technical assistance, evidence-based programs and resource connections to citizens who want their communities to survive and prosper.

Each community is unique in its combination of needs, assets and efforts. Our Community Vitality Pathway model helps communities with assessing needs, supporting local businesses and building leadership capacity. To learn more about our pathways model and how it might benefit your community, please contact our community vitality team. Community-Pathways

Additional Resources

  • The Middle of Everywhere - Do you often hear in your community "There's nothing to do here"? Do potential newcomers also hear this and think twice about becoming your city's newest residents? Ben Winchester, from the University of Minnesota Extension, encourages community leaders to think regionally in this exercise. The exercise takes approximately 90-120 minutes to complete. Members of our facilitation team would be happy to assist with this activity.
