Shout Out: Matthew McKernan, Cheryl Boyer, Annie Baker, Terry Roberts

Submitted by Gregg Hadley

This week the Shout Out is from Horticulture PFT Leadership Team (Anthony Reardon, Calla Edwards, Sharon Ashworth); and is sent for Matthew McKernan, Cheryl Boyer, Annie Baker, and Terry Roberts. They write:

"Now that October PEARS reporting is well behind us, we want to acknowledge the people who make that reporting far less stressful and far more effective for the Horticulture Program Focus Team. Most of us on the horticulture team incorporate the Garden Hour signature plan and the Extension Master Gardener action plan into our reporting. Matthew McKernan and Cheryl Boyer put together a comprehensive report each year that outlines the short, medium, and long-term impacts of the Garden Hour. Included in this report are attendance numbers, recording views, and the reach of the program. The K-State Garden Hour reaches people on every continent, with the exception of Antarctica! Before October reporting Matthew sends out a template for the horticulture team to use, complete with language relevant to agents who present or who are otherwise involved in the monthly Garden Hour production. Similarly, Annie Baker and Terry Roberts compile a report and reporting template for those Extension agents with Master Gardener programs. Annie and Terry crunch the numbers and summarize the impacts, allowing for each agent to personalize their own programs.

These summaries and reporting templates are tremendously helpful during a very busy time of year and are much appreciated. Thank you!"

Matthew McKernan, Cheryl Boyer, Annie Baker, and Terry Roberts -- thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Research and Extension.
