Alpha-Gal Syndrome Listening Sessions
The Kansas State University research team—led by Dr. Michael Chao, Dr. Priscilla Brenes, Dr. Yoonseong Park, and Paige Tegeler—is diving into an emerging health issue: Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS). AGS is a potentially life-changing allergy to red meat and other mammal-derived products, triggered by a bite from the Lone Star tick. Our goal is to better understand the prevalence of AGS in Kansas and the challenges faced by those living with this condition.
To deepen our understanding, we are hosting informal listening sessions designed to foster conversation, share insights about AGS and our research, and address questions. These sessions are open to extension agents from any programming area and key stakeholders interested in this topic.
