Coordination of Kansas Community Empowerment Transferred to Kansas Department of Commerce
In case you missed the recent email from the Kansas Department of Commerce (Commerce) relating to the Kansas Community Empowerment (KCE) program, we wanted to send along this message to point you to the new program page and information. The transfer of the program was completed on July 1, 2025.
Future newsletters and program announcements will come from Commerce. If you were signed up for the Kansas Community Empowerment newsletter from K-State Extension and didn’t receive the announcement, be sure to check your spam folder and approve the delivery of messages from kdc_marketing@ks.gov.
The new website address is: https://www.kansascommerce.gov/kce/. The previous website housed by K-State Extension now has a link pointing visitors to the new page. For any communities reaching out to you about the program, you can direct them to that website address, or to the Kansas Community Empowerment coordinator, Sara Bloom – sara.bloom@ks.gov or (785) 506-9278.
Jaime Menon and Jan Steen, former program co-coordinators, remain with K-State Extension as part of the state’s community vitality specialist team.
