Shout Out: Annie Baker
This week the Shout Out is from Michele Janson, IMGC 2023 Co-Chair, Johnson County Office Professional; and is sent for Annie Baker, Kansas Extension Master Gardener State Coordinator, Horticulture and Natural Resources. Michele writes:
"The International Master Gardener Conference 2023 (IMGC 2023) leadership team would like to give a shout out to Annie Baker, State Coordinator Kansas Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program, for taking charge and running the Search for Excellence awards program for the upcoming IMGC 2025 hosted by Texas. The Search for Excellence program recognizes the top Master Gardener projects from around the United States and Canada across 6 categories. It is the responsibility of the prior IMGC host which was Johnson County Master Gardeners to manage the program for the next IMGC. Annie took the ball on our behalf and ran with it being well ahead of the curve. There were 36 applications across 17 states/provinces. These were reviewed by 33 judges from 14 states/provinces. Annie’s leadership was amazing. Her clear and thoughtful process made it very easy to read through and rate the many applications in each category. Annie – A HUGE thank you for taking this project on and all that you do for the Master Gardener program!"
Annie -- thanks for all you do for the people of Kansas, our colleagues and K-State Extension.
