New Guidelines for K-State Email Signatures

Submitted by Meg Stopps

Last week, the university unveiled a new policy related to email signatures. To ensure staff are following state law, the university has set new standards for email signatures and requires all staff to be compliant with these standards by July 31, 2025. You can learn more about the university’s email signature standards on this webpage.

On this page, you will also find their email signature generator tool. If you're still having issues determining how to use this tool for your specific extension role and/or unit, we've modified the template below for an extension-related use case. Please feel free to modify this based on your specific extension role(s) (optional items are bolded):

First name Last name, [credentials - M.A., M.S., Ph.D, MBA, Ed.D, J.D.]
Title
K-State Extension [Local Unit Name]
Kansas State University
[local unit office street address]
[city, state, zip code]
[office phone # with area code]
[k-state email address]
[local unit website address]
[disclosures, if applicable]

To read the full university announcement and learn more about email signature items that are no longer permitted or highly discouraged, visit this webpage.
