Reminder: Extension and Engagement Week Offers Opportunities to Learn, Lead and Engage

The upcoming Extension and Engagement Week, Oct. 20-24, will feature dialogue, lectures, professional development training sessions and other events to celebrate community, connection and opportunity.

In addition to the K-State Extension Annual Conference, the week will also highlight topics such as leading for impact, dialogue and discovery surrounding adult ADHD, artificial intelligence, engaging with media, and bringing ideas beyond the lab or classroom.
Some of the events throughout Extension and Engagement Week include:
- UFM Lou Douglas Lecture Series, Monday, October 20: Kaye Monk-Morgan, president and CEO of the Kansas Leadership Center, will discuss how to change your community one person at a time.
- Adult ADHD — Day of Dialogue and Discovery, Tuesday, October 21: Join healthcare providers, researchers and academic leaders for a focused day of learning, collaboration and innovation in adult ADHD care.
- President's Distinguished Lecture Series, Tuesday, October 21: Marcia McNutt, National Academy of Sciences president, will discuss the state of science in America.
- How to engage with the media, Thursday, October 23: Learn how to handle media interviews, develop key messages and even practice some of these skills.
- Engage with KSURF, Thursday, October 23: Faculty members, staff researchers and student innovators can explore how ideas can make a difference beyond the lab or classroom.
