Oklahoma Conference on Volunteerism

Submitted by Sarah E. Maass

Oklahoma Volunteerism Conf Logo

Oklahoma will host its inaugural Oklahoma Conference on Volunteerism, a biennial event designed for Extension staff and volunteers in all program areas, including Agriculture, Family & Consumer Sciences, and Youth Development, as well as Master Gardeners, Master FCS Volunteers, and 4-H Volunteers.  The mission is “to empower and equip Extension volunteers and educators to serve our communities together.”

Oklahoma has invited Kansas not only to participate in this conference on June 26-27, 2026, but also to submit proposals for the conference. They are accepting proposals for a presentation, poster, or funshop that supports this mission and strengthens volunteer engagement. Sessions can:

  • Address one or more of six competencies needed by staff and volunteers:
Facilitation, Communication, Active Listening, Relationship-Building, Conflict Resolution, Program Planning & Evaluation
  • Cover program content relevant to Extension work
  • Or blend competencies with program content for maximum impact

We especially value sessions that highlight volunteers and educators working together to make a community impact!

Proposal Deadline: January 16, 2026

To help you prepare, the submission rubric can be found at https://www.kansas4-h.org/resources/Tip-Sheet-12-2025-ProposalRubric.pdf.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to share your expertise and contribute to the success of our inaugural conference.
