Looking Ahead: An Exciting 2026 for K-State Extension
Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed a restful holiday season.
As those "2025 wrapped" videos flooded social media, I found myself both reflecting on the year that has passed and feeling energized about what 2026 holds. There's something powerful about the fresh possibilities a new year brings!
Here are just a few things I'm personally looking forward to in the weeks ahead.
- We're rolling out professional development programming designed to sharpen our skills and deepen our impact. These learning opportunities will equip us to meet evolving community needs with purpose, confidence, and innovation. If you haven't already registered for the Jan. 7 virtual training event, you can do so here: https://ksu.zoom.us/meeting/register/aue9eB_kQh-_wxPV1gjgFg
- Our collective work to elevate extension continues gaining momentum. The visibility and recognition of our mission have never been stronger, and we're building on that foundation to expand extension's impact and reach across Kansas in new and exciting ways.
- One especially exciting development is Kansas's recent award of $221 million to support the Rural Health Transformation Program. This funding will strengthen rural health systems, expand access to care, and improve health outcomes for Kansans. K-State Extension is proud to be a partner in this work. As we begin 2026, I invite each of us to reflect on what energizes our work, what new ideas or approaches we’re excited to explore, and how innovation can help us better serve Kansans. How will you shape K-State Extension's impact in 2026?
Here’s to a transformative year ahead.
